About Soyaya Movement

Background Information

SOYAYA was established in 2019 it is a movement that is meant to unite women at a grass-roots level and find their voice in local and national government. It aims to help women who have economic focus, such as small businesses, women’s groups, and ethnic group, cooperatives for women, food-processing factories, a host of economic programmes and other functional groups that are formed to providing training or microfinance. Soyaya to pours to building a society which realizes truly human values based on the full mobilization of women of the talents and energies of our people and the sustainable development of the re- sources with which nature has generously endowed us; Soyaya is to provide a framework of voluntary political associations within which Ghanaians from all walks of life and from different traditions can surmount their differences and contribute democratically to the shaping I. of this new society; Soyaya generate its funds from membership contributions, development partner from both local and international communities,

Objectives

Our objectives also include assisting producer groups to come together as pressure groups and find ways to influence policy on matters that concern them Our objectives also include empowering women activism on political and economic programs, issues concerning education and health of women that will help women’s groups to use their united strength to stand up for their rights in the political arena. To provide and spread primary, secondary & higher education by establishing and/or collaborating with schools, colleges, professional institutions. Soyaya is to provide welfare to social groups such as the elderly women and children by preventing them from diseases and poverty alleviation.

AFFILIATION

An organization may be affiliated to the National Democratic Congress Soyaya has uphold and publicly endorsed the aims, objectives, policies and programmes of the National Democratic Congress alone and only It is an organization whose membership is limited to women and some few selected men It accepts to pay the requisite subscription fees and annual e. dues as determined by the movement.

Membership Information

Membership of the Soyaya Movement shall be opened to every citizen of Ghana irrespective of ethnic origin, religion, place of birth, social or economic status, at the same time a member of NDC who want to become a member of NDC

A citizen of Ghana may be registered as a member of the party provided that such a citizen:

• Has attained the age 18 years
• Accepts the constitution, aims, objectives policies and programmes of the Movement
• Accepts the discipline and rules of conduct of the Movement
• Pays the subscription fee and annual dues as required
• Is not a member of any other political party except NDC
• A person wishing to join the Movement shall apply to by filling out a membership form at the constituency level
• Upon acceptance, the member will be issued a membership card such by the Constituency Executive Committee
• A subscription fee and annual dues as determined from time to time and shall be communicated to all members
• A member may resign his membership by formally notifying the constituency of which he is a member
